This year more than 80 students from our schools made it possible to make "Newsies", work of the Talent Show directed by Marcelo Rodríguez, another great success of this cultural project.
On this occasion, the play was based on a real event that occurred in 1899, New York, "Newsies", tells the story of a group of orphaned boys who live on the street and sell newspapers to survive. Unfortunately, the owner of the newspaper decides to raise the price that the boys pay for the newspapers, forcing them to sell twice as much winning the same. One of the "Newsies" realizes that they are the selling force of the newspapers and proposes a strike, generating a real revolution through real teamwork.
This fun and moving work featured a live orchestra made up of students from our schools, and a great staging and period costumes that accompanied our talented young people for six performances held at the Center UnifY Cultural.
In line with our commitment to providing a comprehensive education, we will continue to provide various spaces for our students to discover and enhance their different artistic abilities. We'll meet again in the next edition of the Talent Show.
